Viewing Laptop videos, etc through TV

    Alright,

Looking for some advice on how I can hook my laptop up to my TV to have what I am playing on the Laptop viewed on the TV?

What do I get this set-up? Any advice is welcome.

    Cheers.

What kind of TV do you have? What types of inputs does the TV have? What type of AV output is on the laptop? What laptop is it anyway?

TV is pretty basic, probably be AV / SCART input to it.

Laptop is an ADVENT 7105Pa W and has 4 pin S Video out.

In my experience PC hooked up to an SD tv looks pretty horrible. Could've been my video card though. Anyway, you could just use a normal S-video cable to hook it up, use one of those scart blocks with s-video in if your tv can't take it directly. Then use you video card drivers to set things up how you want it. Nvidia and Ati drivers have standard options for dual screen setups.

          I tried this years ago when I had a **** telly :P

I used an S Video to 21 pin scart cable, I could only manage a Black and White Pictue, I think the cable was cheapo though....

The cables not cheap either, need to try maplins and ask the dude.

Once you've got the cable hooked up you need go into your display properites and change it to output on the other screen

P.s Im almost positive the Cables are the cause of the Black and white signal
