UK credit card on Hong Kong PS3 store - How?

Sorry if this has been answered already in a different thread but I searched through a lot of the PS3 faq threads and couldn't find an answer.

I've seen people mention that you can use a UK credit card with the Hong Kong (and USA) PS3 online stores so you can purchase games from them. I wanted to add my credit card to my Hong Kong account so I could buy and download Tekken 5.

However when I try and add funds to my wallet it always asks for the billing address of the card and doesn't let you chose a country other than Hong Kong. For those who have successfully added their UK credit card to their Hong Kong store accounts... how did you do it???

I've read that this was a loophole that Sony have closed. My experience matches yours - it never accepts my CC details.

Ahhh bugger, that's a shame. I really wanted to get Tekken 5! I don't even like Tekken a huge amount, just the idea of downloading a full game like that sounded really cool Obviously my money isn't good enough for Sony though!!

Is there any reason why phoning your credit card company, getting them to change your address to an address in Hong Kong, then adding that address to your PS3 wouldn't work?

I expect that a UK credit card company would refuse to register your card to a non-UK address. Probably has to be registered to a UK citizen with a UK address by law, I would think.

            No, that's not it...

...because I actually phoned my CC company and changed my address to a proper Hong Kong address, and it still didn't work.

I'd imagine it's all down to where the CC was issued and not where you live. It's a real pity as this means that there is no way to get access to Japanese PSone games in any way and there's loads at the minute I want.
Hopefully some sort of workaround will become available.

Anyone got an idea when the USA shop will get Tekken 5 in?

                I heard its very soon.

                Thanks.

i got tekken 5 dark resurrection. i had to get someone on the tekken 5 dark resurrection forum on gamefaqs to sell me a share. cost me £13 though. if your after it as much as me, i think thats the only way you can probably get it till the uk store becomes available.

I wanna play it but not enough to pay over the odds. I'll just wait until it comes to the UK store, whenever that may be. Just out of interest though... what do you mean when you say someone sold you a share? What exactly do you do?

The problem with shares is that you have to have the persons account on your PS3 in order to play it. That's one extra account for every game you share, after 10 or so it'll start to get messy.
                      Kept you waiting, huh?

Ahh I see. Yeah, well, I can't be arsed with doing that AND having to pay more than the RRP I don't like Tekken that much! I think I'll wait until the UK store is launched.

Tekken will be in the USA store soon enough. Mastercards work with the USA perfectly.

You don't have to. I didn't even have the top address line right...
