Running import 360 on PC monitor?

Firstly, sorry if this is has been asked before. I tried a search and couldn't find much!

I'm looking to import a Jap 360, and am aware of most issues to do with this (step-down converters etc.) However, I am having problems finding out whether I can use this import console on my PC Monitor via the VGA cables available. The issue is obviously to do with PAL/NTSC conflict. I have a Dell E196FPl monitor (http://support.euro.dell.com/support...ecifioications), and can't afford a HDTV at the minute....

If I bought the console and VGA cable, would the monitor display the same image just as if it were a PAL console plugged in?

        It should be fine.

The only thing you'll need/want to do is first set the 360 on a TV and set the screen to PAL-60. Some games won't play over VGA/Component if the screen setting is PAL-50.

^^This shouldn't be an issue should it, seen as i will have to also import NTSC/region free games anyway?

Another thought I had, instead of buying a step-down converter, could I buy a standard UK power supply (as bundled with UK consoles) off ebay etc. and simply plug this in to the console?

Yup. That'd work fine (I have a PAL and NTSC-J 360 and have interchanged the power supplies with no problems).

One thing you might want to consider. The monitor isn't Widescreen by default, so you might have issues with your monitor on certain games.
