Value/rarity of Pokemon Crystal? Plus other pkmn questions

I had Pokemon Crystal back then it was released but I'm not sure if its still in with my stuff somewhere. One of my mates recons it might be worth a bit? I'm just hoping not as if I have to replace it I don't want to be paying too much.

Also, what pokemon are not available in R/B/Y/G/S/C without events or cheating? Is it just Cerebii and Mew? Are there any rewards for linking to stadium/2 like there are in the new ones with collusem and XD?

not a chance, crystal would've sold by the bucketload, i've seen brand new sealed copies given away for free in recent years

as for your second question, check out www.serebii.net

Given away by who? If you know anybody giving away any pokemon games let me know

From that link it looks as though it's only Cerebii and Mew.

Cerebii and Mew were downloadable in Japan. That may have been for the advance generation games, not sure...

You can get certain pokemon by linking with the stadium games as well as items. For example with Stadium 1 you could get lots of the red/blue starter pokemon or evees which was helpful. Think there were other pkmn to unlock as well, been a long time now so i'm not so sure!

But no Cerebii or Mew in either of the staduim games I don't think. According to the site posted earlier the only way to get them is at an event or with the gameshark.

Which begs the question, does anybody have them on their carts?

I had both, but with a gameshark...

But no you definitely couldn't get them in the stadium games.

Just out of curiosity, with the next gen on the way, and the new wii stadium game, why both with the first gen?

Well I've been talking to my mate at work about Pokemon a lot recently and have been left with a bit of a yearning to play the game. However as I mentioned the carts retain their value very well and I don't really want to pay much for fire red.

So I started thinking about all the pokemon games I've played over the years since my obsession with the original and I was just thinking about how I've not really enjoyed one since Crystal. To me crystal has all the good elements of the new ones (breeding etc) and none of the bad points that dilute the original premise of the game (contests, blocks etc) and also has the day and night system that has since been abandoned, despite being a great idea.

Also, it has non of the crap new monsters (which I feel lack the charm of the original 150, although the additional GSC 100 were ok) and the world is better designed.

As I have Blue, Yellow and (maybe) Crystal I thought I might have a shot at getting a decent number in my crystal pokedex.

Ah fair enough. The contests are a load of crap but I just ignore them. The original 150 are the best, I agree, but I do like some of the newer ones. Havn't seen any from the DS games, there might be some good new ones there.

Anyway good luck, never finished the pokedex on any of them, always tell myself I will, but fail miserably.

I've managed to complete my Pokedex with 150 on my original blue cart before but lost the save. I'm going to try it again now with a combination of blue and yellow (I believe the only other one I'll need is Ekans/Arbok) and if I manage that I'll go for transfering stuff to crystal and trying to do the Pokedex on that.
