What's the 480p/525p stuff about in the manual? I have the JPN version, so I cannot read it. Is it just the X and Triangle thing?

When you start the game it should give you option for english, select english start the game press the start button go to options and switch to ps save game job done.

I've just skimmed through my US manual (Landscape layout) and I can't see a mention of it anywhere - whereabouts in the JP manual is it?

I have the US version and as Huxley says, you can enable it via the menu - after that when you boot it will ask you to confirm PS display. X and Triangle didn't work for me IIRC.
