    Cheap Router Advice

My mate needs a router so he can run his PC online and 360 on Live at the same time. Doesn't have wireless in his house and wants to spend as little as possible.

    Will this work?

By plugging his internet line which is already on a network into his PC, then using the USB connection to plug the PC into the router and then the router into the 360 for internet connection sharing?

Or will he need one with more ports and do it the proper router way? If you know what I mean?

Advice or cheap routers that will work will be appreciated.

I think the USB-B port is for a print server only, you'll need a switch or a hub to link up more than one device...if so, it's better to buy an all-in-one device...D-Link switch/routers are cheap, though I wouldn't exaclty reccomend them (me and friends have horrible experiences with them)... http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=62 is probably the cheapest, includes an ADSL modem, router and 4 port switch.
    I would reccomend the Netgear DG834 (http://www.netgear.com/Products/Rout...rs/DG834.aspx),
probably a bit more expensive but highly reliable.

That looks like the right thing to me

2 port ethernet modem and router.

      1 port for PC, 1 for 360

Looks to me like only one ethernet port and a usb for the PC, should do the trick, pretty odd device mind.

I'd recommend spending a bit more a getting a router from a quality manufacturer, sounds a little cheap and nasty.

Go for the DG834, mines been bullet proof so far.

dont scrimp when it comes to modem/routers. Ive got a belkin and a netgear. both are really good, but you cant really beat the netgear models for ease of use. ive got the older DG824m. Plus they double as a secondary source of central heating?!?!?

            Netgear DG834G For Teh Win

I have dealt with nuemrous mate's cheap routers (im the network assistant bitch) and they are always a pain in the arse. Problems with port forwarding and freezing randomly are common-place.
