    Xbox 360 vga cable question

I have always gone for official cables before, but when it comes to vga,are all the cables pretty much the same?

Does anyone have any experience of the GAME own brand vga,in comparison to the official one?

    Cheers

I dont have experience with the game one but I have used the mad katz one and the official one to my eyes gives a better picture.

For the fiver extra or whatever it is Id buy the official one

I've only used an official VGA cable and am happy with it; prefer it to VGA too. I didn't even entertain a third party cable after reading many reports of poor picture quality compared to the official one.

        Hi!

I bought a joytech VGA cable, and felt it was a bit grey and fuzzy. I then bought an official cable and was proven right!

I would suggest you hunt down an official one.

In the 360's case, official VGA lead all the way, about ?17 from gameplay iirc.

I had the joytech one, and suprisingly the official one gave a marginally less noisy image.

Indeed, I had the JoyTechversion of the cable but it just didn't look right, a little washed out and fuzzy.

The official cables gives one of the best pictures I have seen on anything.

              I'd just buy that.

As I'm rapidly running out of scart sockets, even with the magic argos splitter, I take it I can use one of these cables to hook a 360 up to the PC input on the rear of my TV?

                  Yup.

EDIT: Assuming it's VGA obviously, and not DVI.

Hmmm, I might have to do some digging on that front, the manual simply describes it as a "PC input", the TV is a Sony KF-42SX300U if anyone knows more about these things than i do, the next step of course is to convince the missus to that we need a 360.....

Top man, many thanks for that, in my ignorance I didn't know there were two connectors out there!

I do, indeed have a VGA port on the back of the telly (the only empty socket there mind you!), now if i can just overocme the problem of the wife, i'm all set!

Or you can use the Component input.

Scart wouldn't do HD anyway btw!

I picked the telly up two years ago, before the whole HD thing really took off, kinda kicking myself, unfortunatley it has no component input.

I'm not going to be able to justify replacing it for another year or so
