Xbox Softmod: What will log you into Live/get you banned?

Just softmoded my Xbox fully with EvolutionX, and I've been disconnecting my DSL line whilst ftping on my local network (so my router is on, but internet is not.) Is this necessary? What do I need to avoid to prevent myself from logging onto Xbox Live and getting banned? Just not load the MS Dash?

You also need to watch out for second gen Live games (sometimes described as 'Live Aware'), since they connect to Live even when they're not actually being played online for stuff like the friends list. Even some games without multiplayer do this.

What if I deleted my Live account from the console? Would that prevent the live aware non-sense?

If you did the dual boot mod, then you won't have any problems. If you boot with the drawer open (or with a game already in the drive), it will go to the normal MS dash and allow you to play Live games as normal. If you boot using the power button to load the mod it blocks live completely.


Change your mod boot colour to something different to green.
