just got hold of a dreamcast cheap looking for shenmue cheap mate got one put it is only 3 discs instead of four. will this mean i miss the end of the game

Nope.

I presume you have discs 1-3 and your missing the last one?

If so then you're missing the Shenmue Passport Disc which although it is nice, it's just extras so you wont miss out on the game's story.
