Perhaps, but what is more probable is that they are encoded with the AVC or h.264 codec and the Xbox is unable to play them due to its general lack power.
Xbox = 733Mhz =
1Ghz+ =

Yeah, use
GSpot
it can tell you the Codec's used in most formats of video files.
