I've got some of the paint comming off around the power button, change channel and volume buttons but no prooblems with the brightness.

Can't complain really, the TV's served me well for a few years and maybe in a year or so I may think about up grading to a Samsung Hi-Def.

      That's true, it's a somewhat closed place.

I work for an Oil & tanker company and run the IT operations department. I was first brought over a consultant and worked with email and communications for 3 years, then was asked to head the team up after the manager moved on. I actually though the VP was gonna sack me for too much NTSC-uk surfing, so it came as a surprise when he offered me the new job.

Plenty of luck involved, but IT is certainly an area the people from abroad can come over and be up and running with a job quite quickly.

I was put on an intensive norsk course for 18 months, 4 hours after work 2 days a week, and am now fluent in the language. To get on in another country, my experience is that learning the language (Yes, even if you make a whole bunch of grammatical errors) is vital.

As for the standard of living thing, Norway keeps coming #1 just above Canada/New Zealand. This is mostly down to the fact people finish work at 16.00, have a benefits system that pays 75% of you salary, matenity leave for 12 months at 80% salary (I **** ye not) and a pension system that pays 66% of your final salary.

It's a socialist democracy, which means it is a classless society. This is possibly one of the most important things to me. There is a very flat wage system, and anyone that wants a job can get a job. Even if you work at Tesco you will earn about 25K. It means crime is less of a problem (Though Oslo has some gang issues) than the UK, where in London you have millionaires living next door to poverty.

I'd happily pay even more tax to keep this system going. It rules! No one gives a **** how much money you earn, or how big your car is. They are more interested in who you are, and what you stand for.

It's a cool place, and it's full of beautiful women.

      Works for me.

Last Sunday I woke up and thought ' I'm re-arranging my PC / Gaming room ' .. 5 hours of shifting stuff.. going to argos to buy a unit and being REALLY hot whilst feeding cables around the back of stuff and almost smashing the world to bits due to trying to plug in a gamecube rgb scart lead without looking round the back of the TV and I came up with this ... It's a load comfier than sitting on my pc hellchair gaming.. my arse was destroyed after a 6 hour TDU sesh last week.

i'm Neo less except for Pocket crystal, turfmasters and densha which will be going shortly

all sold for 3 magic beans

by magic beans i mean a new car and N64, Saturn and Dreamcast collections and a couple of grand in the bank. Tbh i sold it all before the slight price crash so it was at the right time

with the stuff i have now i actually play it often, with the Neo stuff i didnt really play it that much and it was always the same games (ffs, Breakers etc)

thats everything i have except a couple of PSone Jpn's (still believe in the back up consoles) and 3 controllers up the loft (Samba, Onimusha Katana and Streetfighter arcade stick)
