Kirby is it safe to have your DC games covering the sides of your amp? Doesn't it overheat?

the air slots are normally on the top of the device rather then the sides from what ive always seen... should be safe - if it wasnt... he would have found out by now when his sounds died

Mine has ventilation slots at the top and both sides. I have a gap of about 5" on either side plus about 1' between the amp and the shelf above - and my amp still heats up during long sessions.

The side vents are usually for the in-take of air IIRC, which would be pretty worrying if that's the case with Kirby's amp

Yeah it's fine. There are no vents on the side, only on the top, and it only gets lukewarm at most.

Although, before i got the unit in that picture I used to have it sat on top of a table, and it was always stone cold. So i thought i could get away with resting stuff on it on that unit. WRONG! I put the DVD player on top of the amp with the XBox where the DVD player is now, and watched an episode of Family Guy then checked the top of the amp and it was burning up Although hopefully the circuit protection would kick in before it blew up..hopefully.

                    Ok, I was just curious

When I first got my amp, I didn't even think about overheating and put it in a tiny space on a shelf, and it stayed there for weeks. One day I read about someone's amp overheating and panicked I'd just finished watching LOTR as well (so that's 3 hours on at loud volumes) It was so hot that I couldn't put my hand on it without burning my hand.

Since then I've been so paranoid that I check the temperature every hour

In theory, yeah. But how often does that work in reality?

When I play cube games I move the console out a bit for the intake.
