It was done by a lot of hard work, a torturous and expletive laced trip to Ikea, a lot of time consuming flat pack assembly and several trips to B&Q to sort out the cabinet lighting.
Screen size is 32" but the unit holds up to something like a 42".
It's changed a little bit since then as I've changed some of the figures and stuff. When I get the chance I'll have to post some new photos.

Spatial, I've falled in love with your unit (you filthy beast!)..how big is your amp there, mine is a bit of a monster and I'd need to be sure it'd fit...or is the shelf space adjustable?
Also, did you say it was Ikea? If so, any idea what it's called please mate?
On second thoughts, is that ONE full unit or is it several put together?

Yep it's Ikea and the Besta range:-
Explore our wide range of IKEA BESTÅ TV tables at affordable prices. We have a selection of colours and finished to choose from. You can also customise your TV bench by adding doors. Shop online or in store today.
It's actually several different units put together (six to be precise - and that's including the TV bench) so you could tailor it to however you want it to look. I've changed mine a little bit since those photos were taken to put drawers on the front to muffle the sound of the 360.
The shelves inside the unit are adjustable and the Onkyo was a bit of a squeeze height wise as it's a monster piece of kit. Dimensions from the Onkyo site are that it's:
W 435 x D 374 x H 174.
Only thing I would say is that Ikea don't do those glass doors in a matching finish. I had to put the old DIY skills to the test and tart up a set of plain white ones from the same range.
I really need to post some updated pics. The layout of the kit hasn't changed but the goodies in the display cabinets have.

The doors are these ones from the same range:

There is one with a matching Beech finish but it's also got frosted glass (which isn't much good if you want to display stuff but ok if you just want to hide whatever you're putting in the cupboard).
The units on each side are one small heigh extending unit

and one taller unit.

The fittings in each one are the same and I just swapped the shelves inside the taller unit for some glass shelving.

Well here's my setup... not bad for an unemployed 17 year old.
The important stuff -
22inch LG Full HD Monitor
Philips Speakers (for both pc and wii)
A little tv box which allows me to play games and watch tv through vga
Black Logic speakers from eBay
Packard Bell imedia 1517
PAL Xbox 360 60GB
PAL Nintendo Wii
Any suggestions on how to improve this setup without buying anything extra?Last edited by londondynasty; 05-05-2009, 20:51.

Thanks to Mr Spatial's pictures I'll be upgrading my entire lounge next month
Spatial, any chance of some photo's of the insides of the top cabinets? I can't make up my mind whether to go for glass doors like yourself, or just keep the sliding ones!
LondonDynasty, I've just purchased that exact TV for our spare room/games room/kids playroom. Is it decent? Seems to have glowing reviews, is the freeview signal good?

Legendary!!! I've measure up today anyway but they look lovely and deep. Will be so nice to store away the games, SFIV stick, Buzz Buzzers and the absurd amount of other peripherals and collectors editions that don't bloody fit normal shelves!!
Quick question, the units on the top, did you attach them to the units below or the wall, or both?
They really are nice though, you've totally made ikea another £300+ mate.

If only I were on commission
I bolted the top ones to the bottom and the side ones to the central units. They come with some sturdy metal clasps to allow you to do it. They're so tight that they won't budge at all now (unless you purposefully ran into them in a deliberate bid to topple them I suppose). In fact when I had to pry one clasp off it was a real effort to do it (although not impossible with a screwdriver).
Ikea do say with all their heavy stuff that you should fix it to a wall, so it's something to consider. I tend to have a reckless disregard for the safety and well being for myself and others, so didn't bother.

Dazzyman
Could do with some myself as running out of room. Just need staying put agency to do a better job on my next disabled flat and that when I try to fix anything to a wall it doesnt crumble and actually holds!
