That's latest setup, might get a new tv unit and some Kef eggs as well.

It may not be an LCD or HDTV, but its a pure flat 15" portable with a sweet RGB scart input. Ideal for 'at the PC' cube gaming. Just look how crisp Zelda is. You can see the excitement on my face. Apologies for the white trash vest.

        And you SHOULD apologise.

Roost, does the Samsung LCD TV do RGB? I haven't seen it listed as a feature on the websites I have checked so far...

          Nice tattoo dlittley!

            It does. Ordered mine tonight.

            1x HDMI (dvi with adapter)
            1x VGA
            1x Component
            2x SCART (1 RGB)
            1x S-Video
            1x Composite
1x RF (analogue / digital depending on model #)

Cheers! I'm going to blow my pension refund on this one when I finish JET. My room is pretty small back home, so a flat panel is the way to go.

Are you buying from Empire Direct? And what is the deal with stuck pixels? Can you return it if there are only a few, or is that not covered in the warranty?

Yeah, I ordered from Empire Direct after I demoed the one with Freeview in Currys today, and was very impressed. (especially with HD stuff - I hooked up my Powerbook via VGA to test it)

I think Empire Direct go by the dead pixel policy Samsung has - I called Samsung and they said that they didn't have details for this set, but a 24" one is about 10 stuck. That's a bit ridiculous, but I'm sure I read an article a few months back saying that Samsung had a new manufacturing process that produces very high yeilds with one or two dead pixels at most.

If it's stuck, there's a chance of them becoming unstuck if you "massage" the screen, or play back a video that alternates R/G/B very quickly. (I plan on playing back that psp one fullscreen)

I figure I can live with a couple. (also, I think distance selling laws means I can return the set in 7 days, no questions asked)

I was reading about the PSP demo and screen massaging before, so hopefully they would work. The distance selling regulation is a good point as well. I always forget that!

Empire Direct seem pretty good, and when I had to return a faulty memory card to them before they sorted it out quickly. Hope you like the TV when it arrives! Post some pics so I can drool over the potential!

I'd love to, but I really need to get a new camera. I had just bought a Nikon D70 DSLR, but recieved two faulty ones, and decided to get a refund. I noticed there was a newer D70s released since, and was planning on getting that, but I saw the TV and couldn't resist, lol.

Will probably pick up a new camera next month, but right now I'm stuck with a 640x480 webcam.

Problem solved, you can do a live webcast of whatever you use the TV for. Go and register www.andrewfeesswankytvlive.com right now!

                          I'm liking it!

I few weeks ago I ruled out getting a HDTV, but seeing as you can get a 32" LCD screen for less than 900 pounds now I have changed my mind.

Right, can't look at this thread again until I get it.

LOL... I got it free from Microsoft for doing some beta testing, and it's not seen any use yet... maybe I actually will do that.

I was the same as you - I really wanted to get an HDTV, but it looked like the only option in my price range would be a projector... which won't fit in my room.

I'm so glad Samsung brought these screens over here, I was tempted to import the 23" US model, even though it doesn't support PAL content. (not that it matters for games, but I would like to watch TV on it some time)

Is it me or are the Samsung LCD's prices creeping up daily at Empire Direct?
