    Wii Pic Problem...help!

I've posted this in the Wii faq thread as well but I'm gettin more depressed by the minute so thought I'd put it up here as well.

Set my (ntsc) Wii up this morning using the standard (red/yellow/white) av lead that comes with it, had a colour pic for a min or two and then went fuzzy and colour started to drain. Ended up with a clear, b&w pic. Ok, I thought mayhe the lead is bust. So tried same type of lead with my Q and was fine.

So went out and bought an official scart lead, have come home, plugged it in and I now get a clear but totally red pic...WTF?!?!!? Though have just been told that US machines don't do scart, so that's would explain that I suppose.

Any ideas ppl, is the actual connection inside the Wii bust or what...? Suppose I need top get another lead...sigh.

All and any help would be much appreciated as I was really looking fwd to sitting down with Zelda. Most depressing/upsetting...

Does it do it on other TV's?

b/w picture tells me yout TV doesn't do NTSC, but it's strange it was colour at first.

Haven't got another tele to try it on unfortunately.

Tele defo does scart as I use it for my ntsc xbox, Q and Jpn ps2. Tis a Sony w/s.

All I wanted to do is sit down and play Zelda all day, upsetting is not the word...

I've got a horrible feeling it's the machine as like I said it was colour and then just faded/fuzzed out before my eyes.

It's not really about the Scart, the US Wii doesn't do Scart simple-as. Your best choice is S-Video.
Unfortunately, if your TV doesn't do NTSC (it may be able to do 60Hz over Scart, but not necessarily Composite/S-Video NTSC), things get harder. It'll be new TV (you can get a cheap NTSC-capable TV at Asda), or a Component-to-RGB converter, neither are friendly on the wallet.

It may be the console, but it's the first I've heard of such an issue, and it sounds more like a TV compatibility thing to me.

          Oh god, don't say that...lol!

I meant to say the tele does ntsc not scart...d'oh!

I use s-video for my nstc xbox as well though so surely that rules that out...? So best bet is to order an s-video cable suppose as I imagine there's bugger all chance of getting one from a shop in this country...?

          One of these maybe...?

Care to point 'em out...? Though it pains me to have to buy a tele like that as I've got my eye on a bloody huge lcd but that's by the by...

my usa wii wouldnt display in colour on my 14" portable telly either, Beko make.

Using the lead it came with (Composite) plugged into scart.

works fine on my 32" mirai HDTv though
