Weird right shift Dreamcast screen problem on my new Panny 42" HDTV

I got a modded Jap DC and a normal Jap DC and I just got a new 42" Panny 42" HDTV.

I've currently got most of all my consoles working but my DC's.

I'm trying to slap either of my DC's via the RGB scart at the back but the screen weirdly shifts to the right.

Can someone help me out please?

    Many thanks to all replies!

*edit* I have about 6 other DC SCART (no idea if they are official or not) cables and I tried 3 of them so far and strangely enough, 1 of them shows up correctly... Is it summat to do with the DC SCART cables that I've got?

Woa... I noticed something weird now.

The DC SCART cable that does work has an orange swirly thing upon boot up and the other DC SCART that don't work have a blue swirly thing upon boot up... Any significance with all this?

could it be that some of the leads aren't rgb but are regular scarts? i find when using rgb the screen shifts a bit...

You'd be better off buying a DC VGA box and hooking it up to the Panny via VGA. There are one or two titles that won't work (Hydro Thunder for one - will work with some messing about), but generally it'll work and look fantastico.

If you get a DC vga box with a VGA pass-thru you can still have another device (PC or 360 perhaps) connected up to the Panny, too.

            What's a VGA pass thru???
I'd rather stick it thru VGA but I've run outta audio in socket as it's taken up by the consoles using component!

It's a Dreamcast VGA box with a VGA input on it so that you can run another VGA device (a 360 or PC, for example) through it when the DC isn't on, thus saving you from using up your VGA port with only one device. They usually have auto-sensing switches so that they'll automatically flick between the DC and whatever else is connected when they turn on.

Stick a couple of these on and you can double up the input

RGB SCART shift is a common problem with many TVs (Google: scart shift for more info). But why one of your SCART cables doesn't exhibit the shift AND gives you the US/Jap boot up Sega DC logo is a bit perplexing. Perhaps it is this cable which isn't fully wired and is only outputting composite or, maybe, S-Video - that might explain it.

If the SCART plug has all the pins try looking at the other end where it plugs into the DC. If some of those contacts are missing that might explain it.

Dude, can you recommend me one please? I've only got a basic DC VGA cable!

As far as I'm aware, there is only one Dreamcast VGA box with VGA passthrough, by Performance, and it's extremely hard to find.

I do hope I'm wrong but...

No real loss of quality right? I might just try that!

No they're made to double up an output i'm afraid. Basically they are made for if you want to split one audio phono output into 2 amps. Most people buy 2 of them so they can split each left and right channel. They are also used for if you want to split 1 phono video output into 2 TV's

You could use them to turn one socket into 2 but they aren't wired correctly to do that, thus introducing interference.

Edit: Because I'm crap at explaining stuff, just look at this.

If you need to switch between audio phonos then buy a phono switch box. I used to use one where my Wii audio phonos go in socket number 1, 360 in number 2 and PS2 go in number 3. Then from the switch box I have 2 phonos coming out and into my AUX phono input socket on my HI-FI. Then what ever console I have on I just press the correct number I need for sound from that console.
