Yesasia now not shipping Sony's Games to UK too???

I know that Yesasia have refused to ship PS3 consoles to the UK but i'm slightly confused about the games front.

Was looking around for Rogue Galaxy and noticed the shipping comment on that too...

Shopping Note:?This product will not be shipped to any countries in the European Economic Area (EEA).

The same can be said for Ar Tonico on PS2 so I popped them an Email and the reply was ...

    Thank you for writing YesAsia!

We apologize that we have made updates on our website early this year for Sony game and console items. These items will no longer be available for shipment to EEA (European Econimic Area) countries to include UK. Thus, you would not be able to place the order accordingly.

The product pages are marked with this note below the photo of the item for customer's reference.

Once again, thank you very much for your continued support with YesAsia.com.

Please tell me this isn't happening

What I don't get about this is that Sony seem to think it is ok for people in the US to import Japanese games but not those of us in Europe.

It just doesn't make any sense.

EDIT - Just checking a few other PS2 and PSP games (OutRun2 SP, Trio the Punch, F106 and Salamander Portable - first games on the respective pages) and they all seemed to lack the aforementioned phrase. Perhaps it's an error on Yes-Asia's part on the Rogue Galaxy page?

Yes, it is unusual for Sony to be premoting the region free aspect of the console. Hell they even bother to put multiple languages in their games, but why do they want to block us from actually getting a hold of these games...

Oh FFS, just checked a game I was going to get tomorrow:

This product will not be shipped to any countries in the European Economic Area (EEA)..

                  Sony are proper proper *****.

As it stands if I didn't feel so ****ing guilty that some developer somewhere wasn't going to get some payment from me I'd have no qualms now just playing snides or 2nd hand copies.

                  *****.

Every USA PS3 game seems to have the warning on them now....and I know for a fact that the US Virtua Fighter 5 didn't have it yesterday because a mate pre-ordered it at work.

I get the feeling these are being updated as we speak/write

I'm pretty sure the perception is that the problem isn't quite so bad, because the US hasn't been shafted quite so emphatically as Europe in the past.

Sony doing this only forces us to turn elsewhere.

Well I just ordered the Oneechanbara from them and there didn't seem to be a problem. However if they do stop sending Sony products over, where will that leave me? PS2 games are the only reason I've used them and that was generally only as a last resort due to P-A being out of stock. The game I ordered was shown as now out of stick, so hopefully I've snagged it. But if they end up not shipping it and just giving me store credit, what can I do? I guess I'll have to file a paypal claim against them.

Is there anywhere else to get them now? Lik-Sang is gone, Play-Asia stopped shipping them a while ago, and now if YesAsia won't do it where does that leave us? I assume there are plenty of shady Asian retailers that'll ship them but I'd prefer not to take the risk.

I want to get an interview with a Sony exec so that I can quiz them about this next time they push their "multiregion" machine.
