Freeloader 1.0E on UK PAL Wii

Hi,

Having amassed a large collection of JAP/US Gamecube titles over the past few years and purchasing a PAL Wii I decided to get the Wii compatible Freeloader 1.0E as I had to pack my Cube away to make room for the Wii. I have come across a couple of titles that don't seem to work

US Ikaruga
US Super Monkey Ball

Both games load as far as the title screen, when you try to start the game an error message pops up that asks you to power down the console and refer to your Gamecube manual.

Has anyone else come accross this with any different games?

does the freeloader work with Wii Ntsc games or is it just Cube Ntsc games?

Just Gamecube games, apart from the ones listed above

I used to get that quite a bit when my PAL GC was in frequent service. I had it on Metroid Prime and Eternal Darkness (both PAL versions). It's a hardware fault, I think, but I never found a solution for it. I'm guessing the freeloader is triggering whatever state caused it to happen. One of the most unhelpful messages ever, IMO - there was nothing in the GC manual about it.

If you still have your old Freeloader / Action Replay around, boot it with your new Freeloader, and then boot unworking game using booted (old) Freeloader. Game should work correctly now.
