Halo 2 16:9 on 360 problems

Right, i've fired this up for the first time ever on the 360 and downloaded the rudementary BC update for it.

The screen is displaying in a stretched 4:3
I've looked at my dashboard settings, and they're set to widescreen.

Unless i'm being incredibly dense, where can i find the option to get 16:9 on Halo 2?

There is a slight problem with it, the game itself is widescreen but the HUD is 4:3 stretched.
