component and s-video inputs on DELL 2405FPW monitor = ****e?

    anyone else got this monitor?

Tried my saturn and dreamcast through S-video and xbox and ps2 through and they both look like utter dog****.

Anyone managed to get a decent picture out of it through component or s-video? VGA/DVI inputs are fantastic quality.

i have the 2407 (not exactly the same but anyways...)

ps2 through component and s-video looks decent.
you might want to try sitting a bit further back and not computer monitor distance?

Yeah - I use one at work, and the component signal leaves a *lot* to be desired.

Not much you can do as far as I can tell - fiddling with the settings didn't get me much improvement. As you say, VGA/DVI is amazing - its a real shame about the rest

It's kinda normal for LCD monitors to behave like this. I have a Samsung 215TW, PS2/Wii/XBox through componets look acceptable, S-video and composite are blurry, have awful contrast and color renderition. DVI or VGA look amazing, though.
Unfortunately these monitors are built for being used with PC andHD sources (through VGA and DVI) before anything else, their matrix does a worse job in adapting "standard" resolutions through less-than-optimal leads than LCD TVs.
I can say I'm happy though, it might not be a top-of-the-line CRT but at least it fits in my room and it's 16:9.

Kinda figured it looking a bit crap was the norm, unfortunately sitting further away isn't an option either.

great monitor though, and the s-video and components are added (if unusable) bonuses.
