    Wireless Router Advice Please

I have a decent spec pc hooked up to the net via the provided motorola cable modem from telewest.

I am looking to get a wireless router to enable my Wii, PS3, X360, DS and PSP to online and was wondering other than the latest and fastest wireless protocol support is there anything I should look for or be aware of when selecting one ?

Would be greateful for any sage advice as at the moment plan is to just go into pc world and buy the most expensive Netgear thing they sell on the assumption its bound to be OK !

    Thanks very much.

Dude, u dont need a netgear, you can find some pretty cheap good ones at maplin that will work fine. Used to work there and never had any issues with most of the Sitecom gear....

Pretty much any wireless router will work. I've owned routers from Inexq, Belkin, Netgear and D-Link.
The Inexq was clunky and ugly but the range wasn't bad. The Belkin had overheating problems and died after just over a year. The Netgear router was brilliant - easy to use and great range. Worth it's price IMHO. I had to ditch it when I went back to cable though and I now have a D-Link 524. It's OK but the power socket is flimsy and only works with a bit of cable wiggle. Range is merely OK and I was having a lot of hassles getting the Wii to connect to the network as well.

I wouldn't worry about speed either. Even the cheapest router is going to support 802.11b (11Mbps), and when you compare 11Mbps to the speed of your broadband connection, you'll soon see where any bottleneck would be

Also bear in mind when it comes to setting it up that the DS doesn't support WPA encryption, so stick with WEP and MAC filtering if needs be, it sounds more complicated than it is
