360 HD Drive Questions ?

Can somebody tell me how long the cable is that comes with HD drive that connects the drive to the 360 please and can I replace it with a standard USB cable if I need it longer ?

Also does it run hot ? I plan to shut it away in a cupboard when in use to hopefully elimanate the noise ( is it noisy ? ) That way I'll only have to put up with the 360 fans.

I've heard people say the noise of the HD Drive and 360 together is so loud that it puts them off watching films.

I can't tell you the lengh, but you can replace it with another cable or buy a USB extender cable.

It has a mini tiny usb at the hd-DVD end so you do need a certain kind of cable

I watched The Departed tonight which has quite a lot of dialog, the noise of the 360's fans almost meant I couldn't hear the dialog quite a few times. I think my 360 is quite loud anyway, I don't think the (my) HD drive is noisy at all

The drive itself is about as quiet as they come, but as usual the 360 fans stil make alot of noise.

Play a DVD film on your 360 to get a rough idea of the noise.
