a wii misses problem

ok straight to the point.
i need a wii and this time the misses is supporting a console purchase, there's a first for everything. The reason i haven't got one already is that i have just finished moving house and now have the spare readies. As the funds are now there i have a choice, pal or us. am i better off just getting a pal one to keep her happy or am i just forcing the issue of having to buy two. if i only by one which do i get?

PAL issues:
More expensive
Some of the PAL VC games are 50hz and bordered.
Longer wait for games likely.


Pros to a PAL console:
Can trade games in at gamestatione etc.
Not as much hassle if console breaks down.
Can link Nintendo Europe account and buy Virtual console games with stars if you have.
