Playstation 1 NTSC J Suppliers

Hi All,

This is my first post so please be gentle with me.

I am searching for a Japanese NTSC J format Playstation 1 and wonder if anyone can suggest some suppliers who might have one as well as a stepdown converter.

Also my TV runs 60HZ games fine but in black and white only so am I right in thinking that I need an RGB scart lead to get my NTSC J games to be in colour.

Thanks for any info' you can help out this complete import novice with.

Genki have some Japanese Playstations for around £50. They also sell step-down converters too.

I think the PSone model has an external PSU, so you could avoid using a step-down if you bought a UK Power supply for it.

It does sound like you need an RGB lead, the Blaze RGB lead is particularly good for Playstations.

In my opinion it's worth spending some extra cash and buying a NTSC-J PS2, it has some excellent Japanese-only games and it can play most PS1 games without any trouble.

I would get a PStwo from Japan if you desire to play ps1 games from japan.

Smallvillex is dodgy dealer. Ripped a few people off here. Avoid if i were you.

Seems like a lot of expense and hassle surely it would be easier (and more useful) to get a modded PAL PSOne or use an unmodded one with a PS-X Change disc. The latter solution is not ideal for multi-disc games but it's the cheapest solution.

@ superdanx.have you used gamechoiceclub before as i was thinking of getting a psp and twinbee,parodius and maybe salamander from them.Are custom charges likely with this purchase.
