Trance Vibrator - PS3 compatibility

I just picked up a Trance Vibrator for playing Rez on my PS3 (due to the controller having no rumble). Being USB I assumed it'd plug straight in and work perfectly but it doesn't respond at all.

Anyone managed to get one working or is it just a lost cause?
