I'm in this boat too. I'd happily split shipping with you Nick if it'll make it cheaper for us. I've seen it for sale from a Japan-based seller for about £62 shipped, and the guy said he'd mark it down. I'm unsure of whether we'd get away with it though, being as it's 2kg before packaging. I'm also worried about the recall as the first batch apparently stops working after a short while. Any way we can be sure we don't get sticks from that batch? I don't want to be having to send it back, and then have it reshipped to me.

The stick is very, very heavy guys. I went with Fedex, since if there was a customs charge, they'll hit me with it later on.

My friend in Brooklyn has said he will get me one as there is an import store in china town with them,but i think they are the first batch. Any idea how to tell,ie serial number....?

Cheap too,60 bucks,plus the shipping. Was just going to go with PA though as they guarantee second batch.

On the back of the stick itself close to the label, if there is an engraved S or M then that means it's been tested and is 100% ok. Also a new sticker with the barcode and number 4 974365 835026 will have been placed on the box over the old one. Get on to your man Nick ASAP!
