hi im just wondering if there's much difference in picture quality between the 2 as my projector (sanyo z4) does 1080i so is it worth selling for 1080p compatible projector?

It depends on what you're looking at: Video or Film, and the quality of the processing in the projector. 1080i Films and 1080p Films can look identical on some projectors/TVs, but not others.
When you watch films at 1080i right now, do you see jaggies when things move? If so then you could probably get around that by sending "pure" 1080p to a 1080p projector. I'm not sure if it's worth you selling up right now, though. -
the Z4 is actually a 1280*720 (720p) native projector, so the actual question you should be asking is "Is there a difference between 720p and 1080p?"Comment

If you upgrade to a projector that not only accepts the 1080i/1080p video formats but can actually display 1920x1080 pixels, then yes, there'll be a good difference so long as you're watching 1080i or 1080p stuff.Comment
