PS1 Beatmania controller

Hey guys,

I'm starting looking into the whole Beatmania thing again & I saw yesterday at my local independent game emproium that they have the UK released PS1 Beatmania boxset...controller & game for ?7.00

Is it worth picking up to use with the PS2 beatmania games or is it only any good for the PS1 games?

Bearing in mind I only have a JAP PS2 so the PAL game will be surplus to requirements I will mainly be buying it for just the controller.

If it is worth picking up whats the next best Beatmania game to get for a total noob??

The PSone games (Beatmania) are 5 key, the Beatmania II DX JAP games are 7 key (although i beleive you can play them as 5 key versions)

For a beginner, i would say go for BM II DX 11th Style Red, or BMUS (US version) which is easier imo but lacking in tracks, where as 11th is very good overall. If you want a II DX version, or any of the originals are fine for standard BM.

If you are interested in the original games for use with that pad, i have a few for sale atm in the trading forum.

I'm popping over there at lunch & if they still have it I'll pick it up I think for ?7.00 it would be rude not to.
If they still have it there would be a very good chance I'd be interested in those games, but I'll let you know as soon as I get it home & have given it a go if thats ok?
