Is the PSP region free?

Like the subject asks...is the PSP region free? I bought a game thinking it was for the PS2 and when I opened the VG+ envelope I realized my mistake (scene was like: "uuuh, new game!" <opens the envelop> "what a strange case" <stares at the PSP logo> "damn!")
So...currently evaluating the idea of buying an EU PSP to play USA games (Disgaea PSP would have forced me to buy it anyway).

PSP games are region free yes, PSP movie UMD's aren't.
