    Another World's "Converted" GameCubes

Hi there, I'm after a modded Japanese Spice GameCube for myself and have discovered that Another World has a few in stock. They all have a switch installed though I was wondering if anybody knew if they were modded using the hole method or the more reliable option?

Any opinions of Another World's consoles in general would also be greatly appreciated too.

I got an Asian DC from them years and years ago, and it's fine.

Never buy wallscrolls from them though, they'll either not send it and not charge you or not send it and charge you.

What price are they selling it at? You can probably buy a modded spice cube along with GBA player from playasia for cheaper. I dont know what Another World hardware prices are like, but their software prices are criminal.

I bought one of the first Jap Modded GCNs from Another World in Nottingham and they use the metal flip switch located at the back of the machine, below the handle (on the right-hand side).

          Hope that helps.

They're selling 'em pre-modded for ?99. The guy in the games section said the Spice Cubes had just been reduced from ?199 because the colour wasn't very popular. I said I might be back for one later in the week, partly because he couldn't answer all of my questions regarding the console so I needed to do some research.

Their software prices were indeed criminal, they had Viewtiful Joe, opened with tatty card sleeve for ?69.99! They also had a few Pokemon Sapphire's and Ruby's for ?69.99 as well I think. I couldn't see the price clearly but it was definitely in the ?60 - ?69 range. Their hardware prices weren't too bad, they had the Ninty NTSC RGB lead for ?45 and the different colour GBA Players for ?49.99 amongst other things.

I went to the Wolverhampton store. The website also has it listed as ?99, though thats where part of the confusion comes from. The website has the spice 'Cube as being "converted". However the one I saw in the shop had a sticker on it saying "switched". Am I wrong in assuming that you can also change the region of a 'Cube permanently by simply modding and not providing a switch, so that instead of booting in Japanese, it always boots into US unless the mod is removed? That to me is what I believe to be a "converted" 'Cube and one with a switch fitted is "switched". I'm in way over my head here...

i think in this case switch and converted are implying its a duel cube ie JAP and US compatable......

'Converted' could also mean that it is a refurb. Therefore it is a second hand GC with a few new components and touched up a little.
