Pokemon Diamond and Pearl question

I'm planning on getting the new Pokemon game when it comes out but having never played any Pokemon games before I have a simple question. What's the difference between the 2 versions? Am I right in thinking they are pretty much the same only with some different pokemons in them? And which one should I get?

normally the only difference is that there will be few pokemon exclusive to each version, meaning you have to trade with someone who has the other version.

with all previous iterations of the pokemon games, your correct, same game with about 10 - 20 different pokemon, either one would be missing these that the other variation had! with diamond and pearl however, you can catch all pokemon in each game bar one. the final pokemon aka mewtwo (from red, blue, yellow)

Depending on what version you get depends on the final pokemon, cant remeber the name, but one controls time and one controls space!

On another note, an added bonus now is if insert different versions in the gba slot of your ds you unlock various pokemon in the ds game!

So tbh, its all down to personal preference, do you want to control time or space? US release date is 17th! so look out!

These versions of pokemon are the best ones yet there an obscene amount of stuff to do in it.

Pretty much played the japanese versions inside & out & im still finding new stuff.

If you have any of the older games (ruby,sapphire,emerald,fire red, leaf green) you can eventually unlock a option called pal park were you can move your hard trained pokemon into diamond & pearl.

The touch screen controls have been well implemented this time as well.

I thought it seemed a bit strange, cause I remember reading that same article a while back when I was contemplating preordering it.

Having said that, I read on a forum that one of the finals (the pokemon on the front) is better than the other. Can't remember which though.
