Is my Smasung 205bw knackered?

I've had it about 3 wks now & have noticed that my monitor is making a high pitch humming noise. Its not loud as such just a bit of annoying, but if its not supposed to be doing it then I need to know. It kinda sounds like one of those flea zapper things u can buy in Argos but a little fainter. I thought it might have been the power cable not being plugged in properly but its fine so the noise is definatley coming from the monitor.

Also I booted up my PC, turned on the monitor & when my OS main page appeared there were lots of little pink coloured dots all over it. Then every couple of seconds the screen would go black, then appear again, then go black. This happened about 3 or 4 times & then the screen would be fine with no little pink dots.

It might be a couple of thing's. Sometimes problems like this can be caused by the graphics card and not the display. If you can, get the pc hooked up to another monitor, before making the judgement it is the monitor.

Otherwise it's more than likely a fault with the monitor's power circuitry.
