PS3 region free??

I just bought a ps3 Pal version.
If i buy the asian version of ridge racer will it work?

Also will i be able to get online with it?

It's region free for PS3 games. PSone/2 games still have region locking, so do DVD's.

Some blu-ray films are region locked but most aren't you can check here:

Nope, well, neither NTSC-J or NTSC-U games are. Both boot fine on either a Japanese or American machine. Rumour suggests however, that European games won't work on an NTSC machine and vice versa.

It might be publisher specific like 360. UK Virtua Tennis, Def Jam and NBA Street work fine on my JAP machine but UK Marvel doesn't work on my friends US machine.

Def Jam was a freebie from work btw. I would never actually buy a game THAT bad!!
