    Xbox Clock Loop - Always?

I instructed my Brother (who was sleeping in the room with the Xbox) very clearly not to unplug my softmod Xbox. He subsequently did just that. However, I was surprised to find the Xbox did not go into a clock loop when turned on. It just booted as normal to the Evox dash and I loaded the MS dash to check and then went through options and set the time correctly no problem.

From what I have read the clock loop is an inherent problem with softmods - is this not the case with some softmods or Xboxen?

    Thanks,

    mono.

Did he unplug it for more than a few hours? It has a capacitor instead of a battery, so it takes a while for the capacitor to discharge fully.

If you get the clock loop, sticking in a R1 DVD normally works.

It doesn't affect every model luckily.....my v1.6b never had any issues.

Apparently it's usually only the models that are set to boot to XMBC as well.

        Here's hoping I'll be unaffected.

@charlesr: it was unplugged for over 12 hours and when I turned it on the clock was on 1am (this is a bit odd - is it because of daylight savings that it wasn't on midnight?)

if you are connected to a network, then xbmc should sync the time from a time server, at least mines does. I have my xbox off for days at a time, v1.4 modded with krayzie's ndure exploit.Clock has reset when I turn it on, but if its networked time is fine.
