      they aren't specific. An RGB lead will work on any ps2.

        They actually are specific. Make sure not to buy a Japanese RGB cable. Whilst it looks the same it won't work with a European TV.

          Didn't know they had scart on japanese TVs??

          I meant if you buy an RGB lead here, it should work on any ps2.

            I'm not sure that it's called scart. I think it's called RGB21, but it is the same socket. I have an official PS1 SCEI RGB21 cable, which I rewired it to Euro RGB, and it works fine. An added bonus is that it's over 3 metres long.

              The other thing I learnt today was that my lightgun packed up. Gah. Was wanting to try Time Crisis 2 on my new TV.

                Yes the Japanese "scart-esque" thing is called 21 pin RGB, its basically a SCART connector with a loopy pinout, its really odd, since they only use half of the pins (if that!) since theres no use for switching pins etc
