Custom firmware on a 2.81 PSP with TA-082 motherboard

    Hey guys,

Im looking to utilise my PS1 collection on the move as well as try out some homebrew and emulation. I've checked my motherboard and found the nefarious IC1003 number. I've googled around and found conflicting guides towards downgrading then upgrading these (frustrating) motherboards so I was wondering whether one of you kind gentleman could advise me on a guide (preferably one you have yourself used) or ideally explain the steps for me to go down to 1.5 then back up to 3.02 OE C (if this is possible). I obviously don't want to brick my PSP so are there any precautions I can take to try and ensure I don't get a Fake/Virus program?
Also I don't have Liberty City which I believe you need. All I have is a PSP and a Sandisk 256 meg pro duo. Do I need a larger card to peform this operation?

    Any help very much appreciated

It's very easy to downgrade them now. I've done a couple dozen, including one TA-082.

You'll have to upgrade to 3.03 and use the 3.03 downgrader, which will automatically detect whether or not you have a TA-082 motherboard and patch it. Quite slick really. The downside is that it needs the original release of Liberty City Stories in order to downgrade and there's no way around it, so you'll have to source that.

Let me know if you need any more help getting it downgraded, and I also have a pre-made 3.03 OE-A2 installer that I put together.

3.30 OE-A is expected in the next week or so

      Hey Neko,

Any further help/advice would be great mate.
I don't suppose you have a copy of this version of Liberty city stories lying around? I'd be willing to pay postage there and back if you were willing to lend me one. If not no worries. You have been more than helpful already. Ill have a scrimmage around my local games shop, it appears shrewd Ebay sellers are asking a lot for these lucrative copies.
