Cable modem for FFXI?!?!

Hello,

I want to play FFXI on my computer but have some problems with my internet. I use BT Broadband..and it does not go to the full speed its meant to. Since that is unavoidable...i am thinkning of switching to NTL cable modem. Can i still play Final Fantasy XI with cable? HAs anyone had any problems with cable before?
