The Haunting has an EXCELLENT soundtrack. Shame about the film though

One of my favourite DVDs soundtrack wise is Das Boot. Nothing beats the rumble from the depth charges going off, plus i jumped out of my seat on a few occasions when the rivets popped in the submarine.

Blade 2 has some great surround effects, so does 28 days later.
And the R1 Spiderman DVD really is fantastic throughout...

Yeah, it does I'm sure. I don't have the R2 version though. It's got some very good surround effects, particularly when the Green Goblin is whizzing around on his surf board thingy...

T2 is a favorite of mine. Very nice positional effects on both the DD and DTS tracks.

The original Jurassic Park sounds awesome- I thought the roof was gonna cave in when the t rex started roaring when it attacks them in the cars. Also all the rain and stuff sounds brilliant.

Agree with Vaipon on T2 - it sounds incredible.

The Superbit version of The Patriot is awesome in the battle scenes when the Canonballs start flying
xXx is a blast in DTS
                    Blade2 equally so
T2 gets a bit roudy as well

We Were Soldiers has excellent surround - will give your sub a good workout.
Also Black Hawk Down and Band of Brothers are great too.

Not as in your face but just as good:
                      The Others
                      Seven
                      Suspiria
                      Road to Perdition

Quite a few good music dvds too, The Eagles - Hell Freezes Over is excellent in DTS.

The Matrix - the Neo roof top bullet time sequence is just sheer coolness

And lets not forget the lobby shootout

If you can do DTS then the beginning of Saving Private Ryan will leave you shell shocked.

fantastic suggestions guys (and gals?) - I'm currently working my way through Halo in the new world - it really is amazing.
I'm gonna check out Seven tomorrow then hopefully Jurrasic park and T2

                            Cheers

The Others has a fantastic 5.1 track. They?ve actually used the Dolby Digital like an extra character in the film. There are scenes that you just can?t appreciate if you don?t see them loud and in proper surround. It?s one of the very few films that have actually made me look around, and jump out my seat like a fool - purely due to audio trickery with the speakers.

Most 5.1 tracks I don?t really notice, I just hear it in the background, but not so with The Others.

As a film and DVD package, it?s not that amazing, but if you want to test your amp on some unsuspecting friends, it?s brilliant.
