Guitar Hero I (PS2) on a PS3?

Long story short...I don't have a PS2 and I missed this game first time out, if I bought a guitar hero I and a WIRED guitar for it (I dont think the wireless one would work would it?)...

Basically, would it work on the PS3...emulation wise AND controller wise?

Since the 1.7 FW update it should providing the guitar is USB.

I don't think the guitar would be USB would it? It'd be standard PS2 controller type?

Why do you say it should though mate? What happened with the 1.7FW update that would make it ok?

1.7 opened up PS2 accessories for use on PS3. If it's straight USB you don't need any kind of adapters. If it's PS2 standard you need a PS2 to USB adapter.

The PS2 guitar is the standard PS2 adapter, not USB. Will try and see if the 360 one works on it tonight though.

The 360 won't work, same as a DOA4 stick won't work.

Get a USB to PS2 adaptor and it will work fine

I've read online though that using that is no good for the guitar peripheral?

You can get a special adaptor to use GH1 and 2 on a PS3. I shall post details soon...
