PS2 Guncon's are they universal ?

Im thinking of getting a guncon 2 soon and was wondering are these universal ? for example could i use a jap gun with a US game and vise versa ?

Yep GCon 2 is universal, also being USB it can be used with MAME with the appropiate driver although I have yet to set up my Japanese Black GCon 2.

The PS 3 GunCon is supposedly wireless.

Pretty darn sure the official DC Gun was interchangable with Europe and Japanese games.

As I played PAL Confidential Mission with a Japanese Gun.

Of course the official DC Gun was never released stateside by Sega and support may have been removed from the GD ROMS.
