PS3 vs 360, if you only buy one?

    PS3 vs 360

I currently have a Wii but knowing that as it?s a Nintendo machine a lot of games will not make it to the Wii that will appear on 360 and PS3.

I did think about a 360 for a long time but I came to the conclusion that most of its games are wrestling, racing or first-person shooters which don?t really do much for me. Plus its not fully backwards compatible with the Xbox. Plus the 360 has been out for 1 year and a half and at the ?300 price tag a would feel Ive lost out a bit (seeing as these machines only last about 5 years).

I am now considering a PS3 as I would expect (like PS2) most of the games released will come to PS3. Plus I here its fully backwards compatible and has NO regional locking.

Based on this would you advice me to go for a PS3 over a 360?

Wrong forum. These kind of threads usually end badly as well.

Depends on what games you like etc. X360 has largest amount of games coming out but you said you like ps2 games and some of the sequels (MGS4, killzone 2 etc) are coming out this year.

    in before lock...?

Find the first game you want to play and then buy whatever system that's on.

If you have to buy one now make it the 360 in my opinion, you can get it much cheaper than £300 if you look around. In fact for £300 you can probably get about 3 games with it in some stores. You will have access (or soon have access) to great games such as Crackdown, Gears of War, Dead Rising, Bioshock, Forza 2, Mass Effect and many more. Then you have Xbox Live which is the best online service available on any console. PS3 at the moment doesn't have anything that stands out and grabs you, give it time though and it will. The introduction of Home and such innovative titles such as Little Big Planet will certainly help the PS3's future. I hardly play anything on mine at the moment, I just watch Blu-Ray movies.

              Where's Yoshi?

Seriously, you can decent bundles now on 360, check out Amazon or Blockbusters. Here, lookit

360 is the sensible choice if you want to start playing games straight away - Viva Pinata, Rainbow 6 and others are all "must buys" in my book.

360 is the only way to go for online, sociable gaming. If you only want to play games by yourself you're probably better off hoovering up cheap current / last-gen bargains until there's a price drop or something special catches your eye.

If it has to be one or the other then its 360 by a long way. Thats from someone who owns both.
