White Xbox version number.

Think Nick means the Japanese Pure White Xbox (2nd anniversary ltd ed).....I sold him one a while back!

From memory I'm pretty sure it's a V1.0 Nick. Are you having a go at chipping it?

Hope it's a one, as i had to order a new psu, and bought the version 1 one (long story......)

LONGSTORY
---------------

It's chipped already mate, and in the bedroom i have the skeleton one, chipped aswell. I bought an xbox already chipped off of here for a friend, as a bit of a favour as he loves watching US tv. It turned up and would only turn on maybe 2 or so times out of 10 button presses, then wouldnt turn on at all.

So i thought i couldn't give him an xbox that doesn't turn on as a present, so took the psu out of my bedroom one, and put it in his.

I then had a look at the bottom of that one, got the serial, and ordered a v1.0 psu. Then i remembered i swapped the cases over of my two xbox's, so the skeleton with no psu was infact the white one.

So while the version 1.0 psu is in transit, i'm hoping the white is a 1.0

Sounds like you got yourself in a bit of a guddle there....

I had thought about chipping it myself and when I checked the serial no. against a list on one of the modding sites I'm pretty certain it said it was a 1.0. Was a bit surprised myself as I'd been assuming it would have been a later revision.

Did you buy an official PSU btw as I've heard that the 3rd party ones can be pretty dodgy?

Just checked my Xbox modding book and it suggests that consoles with a manufacturing date in the following range are likely to be v1.0:

01/2001-10/2002 (location: Hungary).

Not sure if you can still see this info or if it would've been on the same sticker as the serial no.? Pure White was released in early 2004 though which would suggest it might be a later version after all????

Yep, i did. I'd heard the same.

The skeleton i have was soldered chipped, with a 160 hd, hence the reason i put that in the white case, which is in the front room.

Have you really chipped both your skeleton and 2nd anni ltd ed Xboxs?
They will be virtually worthless now.
If you wanted a white case you should have sprayed a more common one or bought a $20 3rd party one.
