That's the thing - I've been absolutely paranoid about letting the card out of my sight in shops for just that reason. I just can't think, even, with the limited number of shops involved, when it was out of my sight for even a second. They all have the customer card/PIN readers on the counter in full view. The shop assistant's only handling of the card occurs when slotting it into the reader.

What's interesting is that you ^ say the fraudulent use will be carried out soon after the skimming was done. If that is correct there are only two possible places where it could have occured because that month these were the only times I used that card. One of those was my initial prime suspect but how it was done, that is still perplexing.

It may not have been carried out straight away but the chances are it would have been sold on pretty quickly just in case the card owners get suspicious and stop the card.

At least that's what I think I'd do lol, get it and pass it on as quick as possible.

It may have been done a while ago though, I really don't know.

Possible PC-related software infection, screen scraper pinched your details? To be honest it's one of these things you'll probably never find out how your details were nicked but at least you'll get your money back.

No because I don't use a PC - I'm on a TV browser with no HDD or storage memory of any sort. 100% certain nobody else could have used my equipment. Last time anybody else was even in the same room was over a year ago. I'm fairly sure any online trouble could only have been via a security breech elsewhere.

Skimming at one of those local shops does seem the most likely simply because, as others here have pointed out, that it is the most common way of obtaining the details used.

I can tell you one thing though even if I never find out for certain where it occurred I'm not using plastic ever again at one particular local gaming related establishment.

                  Bizarre and very worrying.

Today I received a 'phone call from my CC provider and it appears my other CC has been done as well.

I absolutely 100% only use that CC online and, although I'd have to check my statement, I'm fairly sure I've only used it at 3 separate places in the last 6 months. One is a regular payment to my ISP, another is a few eBay things all through PayPal and the last Amazon.
Even more worrying is that as far as I can recall Amazon are the only company I've ever used which have details of both the CC defrauded :-(

Bloody hell, sorry to hear that. At least it's a credit card, rather than a debit card though. I take it fraud protection will cover you? Still very worrying though, I imagine.

The first Credit Card (the one used on and offline), do you use that for Paypal and Ebay? I mean, would both be registered on your Paypal account? (or ebay, I never sell, so have never registered a cc with them).

Good news for the rest of us, Play-Asia ia acquitted!

Btw, what did they get with their ?500?
