    Video Card problem.

I have a problem where my PC will randomly show input not supported (maybe 3 times a day) and I will have to restart, this also happens after about 1 minute of playing a game.

I thought it would be my card overheating but I've been monitoring the temperature and seen nothing stupidly high. I've also tried having the case open with a fan blowing onto it but it still happens.

    Things I've already tried:

Reinstalling and using different drivers (Omega, differect Catalyst drivers)
Resitting the card plenty of times
    Reconnecting power cable
    Resitting RAM.

Anyone have any ideas as I was really looking foward to have a play on CS, HL2 etc.

What sort of card is it? and is you PSU powerful enough to supply it and the rest of the PC with enough juice. I have had this before and have had to repalce the PSU with a higher rated one to fix the problem

Sorry I should have mentioned. It's a x1600 Pro 512mb AGP, I have a 400w PSU and it used to power it fine.

However one thing I have added over the time of not using the PC much is a second Hard Drive which could be the cause?

is gona be power or over heating. if not then your card could be borked. ati cards are notorious for it. my 9800 pro has been showing red dots for no apparent reason for donkies now. been saving up for a new pc so i can get a good pci express card,

Which driver version are you using? I just went to driver hell with my X1950 thanks to the Catalyst 7.3 and 7.4, and I'm not the onyl one reporting problems with these versions. I got system lock ups during video playback, freezes during games and 3D programs, lock ups when browsing images and even a BSOD.
I'm running Catalyst 7.1 and all it's fine now.
You can also try to lower the GPU and RAM frequencies with Powerstrip or Ati tray tools. Also, open the case to see if the fan works. If it doesn't spin or stops to spin for some reason, you'll might want to replace it if you don't have the money to buy an other card. Arctic Cooling produces some sweets silent coolers, have been using them on a 9700pro, 9800XT and X1950pro.

Just tried it in a different machine (Which only has a 350w PSU) and it works fine so I'm guessing there's something wrong in my PC. I have a 500w PSU around somewhere which I might give a try.

The fan definately spins, was the first thing I checked but when I monitored the temperature it only really got to 70 degrees max which from what I hear is perfectly normal.

With the drivers I tried the newest Omega and Catalyst 7.4 in my machine both had the same affect, however I tried 7.4 in the other PC and it worked fine.

Guessing it might not be a video card problem afterall.

Do yourself a favor and use 7.2 or older video drivers.

Just got home, unplugged the second hard drive and it seems to be working although I need to test it a bit more. I'm guessing I can just shove my 500w PSU in instead and it'll add the extra power I need to operate the second hard drive and the video card?
