    Stereo Jack -> USB - PS3 related

    Having picked up a bluetooth headset for the PS3 ages back, I've come to the conclusion I can't get on with it. It's far too fiddly for my linking.

    So I've started looking around for a USB wired one, the only problem being decent ones are wither like gold dust or just as expensive. There's a load of good old fashioned ones with a 3.5mm jack that would work really well (in line mute which is a must after the 360 headset mute function and they have a similar design) but of course they won't fit the PS3.

    Is there such a device as a 3.5mm jack to USB convertor? I'm sure I've seen some with some headsets - if one exisits any ideas where I can get one from?

    They do exist, not seen them for sale on their own though, only with headphones eg:

    DSP200 Plantronics Stereo PC Headset with 3.5mm to USB Adapter – Reliable & Affordable

    Maplin don't sell them, so it's a case of wading through google
    matches I guess

        Don't see why it wouldn't work.

          Seems to be a few of those on ebay so it might be worth a try - I do wonder if, as its a portable sound card, it might now work properly though.

                That was my next thought tbh

                edit: just found the Socom 3 headset for just short of £18 on the Asda-entertainment site. Seeing as that is USB, has line in volume control and mute function it looks like it'll be right up my street.

                Cheers for the help all.
