    Fastest PlayAsia shipping

Anyone know the fastest shipping option at Playasia?

I asked them 3 times already, unclear if they don't understand, they say Fedex or UPS. Are they both the same then? If so why is one more money than the other?

Also I guess I'd have to sign, which I can't do (at work) so I'm sure there's one where you can go to a depot and pick it up. Any thoughts?

They all have depots where you can go and pick them up. Do not use EMS; EMS is an agreement between domestic couriers internationally so it will switch to Parcel Force when it reaches this country, who are ****ing terrible beyond belief. It took three days to get my Wii from Van Nuys, California to 10 mins away from my house via USPS Express, then it took Parcel Force a further five days to get it to my house.

I think UPS is just more expensive because they charge more really. UPS and FedEx will ask for the import tax money (if there is any) on the door, whereas DHL will send you a letter demanding money a coupla weeks later.

Not sure about the cost difference but in my experience both UPS and Fedex have been quite speedy and the stuff is trackable too.

Both of them should take 2-3 days max to deliver and if you aren't there then you can pop to the nearest depot and pick it up - but if I were you I'd use their websites to check which is closest to you before you pick one. Otherwise you might end up with a longer trip than you'd like.

UPS or Fedex, they take the same time in delivering the goods. I personally prefer UPS as they have slightly faster custom check out, but both services are excellent.

Both UPS & FedEx are pretty good & deliver quickly.

As Randicoot says avoid EMS though as it takes Parcelforce a few days just to put a card through your door to say there're customs charges to pay before they'll deliver the item.

From memory UPS want you to make payment of any customs charges etc. (by cash, credit card etc.) at the same time they deliver the goods. Not sure if Fed Ex need paying on the day or if they just send you an invoice afterwards....don't think I've heard had to pay them tbh.

I quite like the UPS method as at least you know there'll be no nasty surprises afterwards!

always found them to be smug fekkers when they had to ask for import duty

so much so i emptied my car ashtray and most of my duty was paid with coppers

                Fedex

                UPS

Scratch what I said - seems if you miss them the best thing to do would be rearrange a delivery.

I'm pretty sure those aren't all their facilities in the UK but that's the best info I could find on their site.

That can't possibly be it? If so I may have to get it sent to work (if they let me).

I'm pretty sure the UPS site is incorrect. There's a depot near where my dad works, and that doesn't show up on that list. Best to just phone em up and ask.

The FedEx one might well be.....
