What do i need to do to the motherboard as regards configuring jumpers for voltages, speeds and such? i read a guide and it all seems very confusing.

If you are happy to run your CPU at default speeds, then I would imagine that you should be able to leave the jumpers as they are. Check in the motherboard manual though when you receive it. Voltage you probably will never need to worry about, unless you want to get overclocking.

CPU speeds are set by the FSB multiplied by, erm..., a multiplier (e.g. my old (true) 1.4GHz Athlon runs at 10.5*133). You might need to deal with a multiplier jumper though, if it isn't in the BIOS, which won't be at all difficult. Front Side Bus speeds can normally be set through the BIOS. Those last two (certainly the latter) should be automatically detected though...

Is there really that much difference between that Radeon 9600 Pro and either the 9600 or a Ti4200? I'm not interested in playing Doom 3 / Half Life 2 so would this card just be a waste?
