    Recommend me some puzzle games

    Hey all,

Well I have become addicted to Puzzle Fighter on the Satrun & I'm now looking for some more fun puzzle games to play in between bouts of 2D Fighters & shooters so I was just wondering what you lot would recommend??

Pretty much any console & region is fine because I've got regular access to...

    GBA
    'Cube (With Freeloader)
    Dreamcast (With DC-X)
    X-Box (Softmodded)
    360 (Jap)
    PS2 (Jap)
    Saturn (Modded for PAL/Jap/US)
    MD (Plus Convertor)
    SNES (Modded US)
    NES (Pal)

Like I said I'm addicted to Puzzle Fighter, Puzzle Bobble & Chu Chu Rocket at the moment so anything like those is fine, only thing I dont really want to do is spend a loads of money on them as most of my spare cash at the moment is for more Fighters for the PS2...thanks to SNK & their upcoming re-releases

Anyway any help & recommendations is greatly appreciated.

    Ta,

    Neil

After picking it up for ?2 off a fellow forum member I've been playing a fair bit of Popoitto Hebereke (JP) on the Saturn. Similar to Puzzle Fighter but maybe not quite as addictive. Good fun though if you like your puzzlers and I'm sure it can be bought just as cheap off ebay etc.

Well you could go for Puzzle Fighter on the GBA, nice to have it on the go.

Denki Blocks is good on GBA, as is Mr Driller.

Puyo Puyo is a good series which was released on the SNES and MD (I think - and shouldn't be too pricey at all). Don't know about later releases. I think it may have been released on cube and ps2?

      Can't think of much more.

Or you could just play tetris on the arcade section here!

Tetris Attack for the SNES. One of the finest puzzlers ever made. Also covered in the Nintendo Puzzle Collection mentioned by johnboy1967 -- but the menus are in Japanese, so might be a problem.

Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine is an excellent version of Puyo Puyo on the Megadrive (or you can just get the Puyo game for the Gamecube, though it's a bit gimmicky and easy).

Quite a few good ones for the PS2, including Bombastic, Egg Mania and (sort of) Fantavision.

You dont mention a psp in your list of consoles.

But if you fancy super puzzle fighter II on the move then capcom puzzle world for the psp would do you nicely.

I made the mistake of buying it only last week and i am now waiting on three ds games to arrive so i can hopefully get my psp back from the good lady(she likes her puzzle games and especially mr driller and super puzzle fighter).

there is a great old GBA puzzler called Guru Logic Champ, never got a western release but the language not too much of a prob.

its almost in a genre of its own and is fantastic

I third the recommendation for Puyo Puyo, and you can get it for about any system that exists. My personal favorite is Puyo Puyo 3 (Sun) which you should be able to get cheaply for the Saturn. I don't really care for the "Fever" series that came after Puyo Puyo 4, but I'm a cranky stick in the mud who hates change.

I'm also quite fond of Klax (GB Color for sure, I assume they probably did a GBA port) and Boulder Dash EX (GBA)

its well worth hunting for, hours of gameplay in the cart and relys on pure logic, never feels as the levels ramp up that its getting unfair.

just can't fathom why it never got a wider release or sequels.

pretty much a perfect hand held puzzler.

Thanks for all the replies guys, it's been a real help.

Johnyboy I didnt mention a PSP because I dont have one anymore I'm afraid...sold it towards the end of last year because it sucked...although that was before any of the good shooters arrived in Japan (Sengoku Ace & Salamander I'm looking at you here )

Anyway...I should be getting a DS Lite in about 2 weeks time so I'll deffinitley look into that Puzzle Quest then.

BaudAttitude, you've actually just reminded me...I'm sure there is a copy of Sun for sale on the forum so I'm off to hunt that down now

I've seen Mr Driller for the Cube on Genki for ?12 new so think I'll pick that up as well.

Those should keep me busy for a bit but feel free to keep the recommendations coming

                          Thanks again

This Guy has been selling multiple Champs for months.

I dont know where he got them but the one I bought from him appears legit.

                            - Nintendo pcb - cart label stamp numbers - top quality printed matter.
