Metal Gear Solid 3- Snake eater or Substance

My local indie has a new copy of Mgs 3 substance and i was wondering if its worth getting substance over the original? (its ?10 more) i know it has a few extras (which i doubt id play) and a new 3rd person view mode thingy, but are there any other compeling reasons to get substance over the original?

Well, it HAD an online multiplayer mode, but Konami recently took the servers offline.

Some people who didn't like the original release found that the over-the-shoulder view made it a much more playable game. I'm not one of those people myself (I adored it no matter what), but it could be worth checking out a few opinions on that.

I thought the EU servers were left open?

Can you play substance in the original view too? Or just in the new perspective?

Get subsistence sir. The over the shoulder view is similar to Hitman Bloodmoney if that's any help. I couldn't get on with the original release.
And in answer to your question, you can return to the "Classic" view at any time, you just click the right stick. Very useful for SOME boss sections I found.

              Subsistence, Subsistence, Subsistence.

I bought Snake Eater when it came out and the old style camera coupled with the lack of radar (I can handle one or the other, not both) ruined it completely for me. I only played to the end of

              The Pain's fight

because it was frustrating me so much. Subsistence with the 3D camera though is a completely different game. It was brilliant. I'd easily pay ?10 more for that feature alone.

This is true. It's actually brilliant as opposed to just good.
