Will this RGB work with a PAL snes http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PAL-RGB-Scart-...QQcmdZViewItem

or is some kind of mod required?

(i've never used a snes with rgb before)

    Thank you

      Thank you for the link.

So the snes outputs rgb and that scart will be fine?

Yeah, there are just differences between how US/JPN and PAL machines output RGB, as scart is not a standard in the US.

It wont give an RGB picture unless the seller has modified it, you have to remove the capacitors on the R, G and B lines, and preferably add a 47 ohm resistor to each line to tone the brightness down.

If this hasn't been done then you'll probably just get a black picture as the caps bugger up the RGB so you can get composite only.

Ask the seller to be sure..

95% of the sellers of these cables are ignorant to the fact that the cables are designed for the US market.

Ok, sorry to hijack the thread but now i'm confused. I have an original Jpn Super Famicom on it's way to me now, will it output RGB? What sort of scart lead will i need? I have one of those Gamestation 3-in-one RGB scart leads, with an N64/Cube connection on it i was planning on using, will this do the job?
I'm a little concerned now as i bought an original Super Famicom to replace an RGB modded Famicom jr which gave out a horrendously bright/saturated picture

I use an Official Gamecube RGB Scart on my original Super Famicom and the picture is as sharp as you'd like. I also use it for my RGB modded (courtesy of chaoticjelly) US SNES2 and, like the Super Famicom Jr, the colours are slightly brighter, reds especially.

As for getting a decent RGB picture out of a PAL SNES, this seller seems to know what he's going on about:

Official PAL Gamecube rgb lead is the best for a SFC. Must be a uk pal jobby to work on a jp sfc though.
